Pai Lung commune is a remote highland area in Ha Giang province, with over 90% of its population belonging to the Mong ethnic group. The region faces transportation challenges and economic constraints. Accordingly, in the 2022 - 2023 school year, at Sa Lung kindergarten and primary school, there were only 35 students with 100% of them being Mong ethnic people, most of whom belong to impoverished households in Pai Lung commune. Therefore, maintaining attendance rate and ensuring the quality of education here remains a significant challenge.

Sa Lung kindergarten and primary school construction project was started in May 2023 with a total investment of nearly 600 million VND. It features a spacious 147 m2 facility, including 2 classrooms, 1 public house, 1 toilet and auxiliary structures to provide adequate facilities for teaching and learning for the preschool and primary school students in the area. In addition, NAPAS donated 20 sets of tables and chairs, 1 television along with various equipment to support the teaching and learning activities for both teachers and students in Sa Lung.

In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Ly Van Dong - Chairman of Pai Lung Commune People's Committee, expressed profound gratitude to the leaders and the entire staff of National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS). He also committed to ensuring that the teachers and students at the school would make excellent use and take good care of the infrastructure, with a strong determination to teach and learn effectively.

Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hung - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of NAPAS expressed: "The "NAPAS with children to school" Program is an annual community intiative by NAPAS. This year, the Sa Lung school project is a meaningful gift that we give to the students in Pai Lung commune. We hope this facility, once in use, will effectively meet the educational needs and working conditions for teachers and students, contribute to increasing school attendance in the commune, and provide long-term benefits for future generations of students, actively participating in the development of education and socio-economic growth in the region."

At the school location, NAPAS also organized a Mid-Autumn Festival program for nearly 50 students, featuring lively cultural performances, storytelling of the legend The Moon Boy and the Moon Lady, and various traditional Vietnamese cultural acts. The organization of the Mid-Autumn Festival for students at highland schools brought a night of joy, vibrancy and love, contributing to warming the hearts of children and encourage them to strive and overcome their circumstances, inspiring their academic progress.

Sung Thi May (a child of the Co Lao ethnic group), a student of the kindergarten class at Sa Lung school, expressed her happiness: "In some years, we had a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, but in others, we didn’t. This year, we get to parade with lanterns, enjoy festive feasts, watch lion dances, play games, receive gifts and study at such a beautiful new school. We’re very happy…"

In addition, within the framework of the business trip, NAPAS also donated the National flag and visited the officers and soldiers of Lung Cu Border Guard Station; burned incense to commemorate the martyrs at the 468 Memorial Monument and Vi Xuyen Cemetery.

Over the past years, NAPAS has been consistently extending its journey of love to remote areas, connecting and sharing with various challenging circumstances, and honoring heroes and martyrs. The series of activities has contributed to demonstrating the company’s social responsibility toward the community as well as contributing to building and promoting social welfare initiatives within the NAPAS workforce, aligning with the humanitarian values and the spirit of solidarity from our national tradition.
