Under the partnership, the parties will collaborate to deploy cross-border QR payment solutions across Central Retail’s entire network of supermarkets and retail outlets in Thailand, enhancing service visibility and encouraging customer adoption. Once operational, Vietnamese travelers will be able to use their domestic banking applications or e-wallets to scan QR codes and make purchases without the need for cash or currency exchange at more than 3,000 Central Retail stores across Thailand’s 63 provinces and cities, including well-known brands such as Central, Robinson, Tops, Tops Daily, Supersports, and Topcare. This solution will not only provide a convenient, fast, and secure payment experience but also expand cross-border payment capabilities, enabling customers to enjoy a seamless payment journey from Vietnam to international destinations.

Previously, in October 2025, NAPAS and Central Retail Vietnam (CRV) successfully rolled out the VietQRPay and VietQRGlobal payment solutions across CRV’s entire network of GO! hypermarkets, Tops Market stores, and go! outlets in Vietnam.

The continued expansion of this partnership, bringing VietQRGlobal services to Central Retail’s retail network in Thailand, marks an important milestone in the cross-border payment development roadmap of NAPAS and its banking partners. The initiative is expected to further promote cashless payments, facilitate trade and tourism activities, and strengthen economic connectivity between Vietnam and Thailand, as well as other countries across the region.

Moving forward, the parties will jointly develop and roll out marketing and communication initiatives to raise awareness and promote the adoption of the VietQRGlobal cross-border QR payment service among Vietnamese tourists visiting Thailand and Thai tourists traveling to Vietnam.

Vietnam Week in Thailand 2026, jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and Central Retail Vietnam, officially opened on September 17 and will run through September 20, 2026 at CentralWorld, one of the world's ten largest shopping centers.

Now in its eighth edition, the event continues to promote Vietnamese products, culture, and tourism to international audiences while creating opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to explore the Thai market and distribution channels. It also serves as a platform for direct engagement with Thai business leaders and consumers, helping enterprises identify new opportunities for trade and investment cooperation.

Vietnam Week in Thailand 2026 brings together more than 60 businesses representing a wide range of Vietnam's key industries, including coffee, tea and beverages; agricultural products and processed foods; confectionery and regional specialties; seasonings, fish sauce and OCOP products; bird's nest and healthcare products; handicrafts and consumer goods; as well as tourism products and services.
