Through its integration with Weixin Pay, NAPAS has completed cross-border payment connectivity with the Chinese market of more than 1.4 billion people, enabling Chinese visitors to conveniently scan QR codes and make payments across Vietnam. Seamless Payments to Boost Bilateral Tourism and Trade

In 2026, NAPAS continues to make significant progress in its cross-border payment development strategy. To date, Weixin Pay is the third Chinese payment platform to successfully establish cross-border QR payment connectivity with NAPAS.

The partnership between NAPAS and Weixin Pay also marks a significant step in expanding Vietnam’s national payment infrastructure connectivity with leading digital payment platforms in China, effectively serving the payment needs of users from this market.

Weixin Pay is one of the most widely used mobile payment methods in China and is integrated into the Weixin/WeChat application. The platform currently provides both online and in-store payment services across a wide range of sectors, supporting consumers’ everyday spending needs while offering businesses a secure, convenient, and efficient payment solution.

Launch Ceremony for the Expansion of Vietnam–China Cross-Border QR Payment Services

Through the partnership between the NAPAS and Weixin Pay payment platforms, Chinese visitors can use Weixin Pay to scan VietQRGlobal codes and make payments at a nationwide network of acceptance points across Vietnam, including retail stores, restaurants, hotels, accommodation providers, tourist attractions, and more.

Payment transactions are processed through the connectivity infrastructure linking NAPAS and Weixin Pay, together with BIDV’s clearing and settlement system, ensuring that transactions are completed quickly, conveniently, and securely for users.

The service is expected to reach more than one billion Weixin users, further facilitating travel, tourism, and cross-border commerce between Vietnam and China.
